Coach Luke has the ability to lift the passion and determination out of each and every one of his swimmers including Letticia Martinez, a Paralympian Olympic team member and current National Team member who holds 23 American records as an S-11 Legally Blind Swimmer. Even more so, Luke has served as the Head Coach for 3 Olympic Trial qualifying athletes, 1 Canadian Trial qualifier, 4 National Qualifiers, 2 Jr. National Qualifiers, and 5 High School All Americans.
Luke has facilitated tremendous accomplishments of WILD swimmers who currently hold 34 separate NM State Records and who have won over 50 individual State titles. The efforts of Coach Luke and his competitive athletes have been illustrated in Splash Magazine 5 times in which WILD swimmers’ National Top 10 rankings have been highlighted by in their prospective age groups. Through the illustration of his accomplishments, Luke has fostered the growth and culture of WILD to create a fun and competitive environment for athletes from all walks of life.
Coach Madi aids the community to become active both in and out of the pool through a specific training regimen. More precisely, Madi is in charge of overseeing and training a wide range of WILD athletes by critiquing their swimming technique and providing competitive swim training through weights, dry land, swim practice, and yoga!
Kecrya Sam has lived in New Mexico since 2015. She has been swimming competitively since the age of 7 until she graduated high school. Coach Sam is currently working on her bachelor's in Secondary Education in Mathematics to become a middle school or high school math teacher.
Coach Sam currently specializes in teaching the Pink and Black groups as well as instructing lessons for novice swimmers.
Jocelyne Luna-Duarte, born and raised in Las Cruces, embarked on a remarkable journey in both academia and athletics. With a passion for excellence ingrained from her early years, she dedicated 7 years to competitive swimming, homing in on her skills and fostering a spirit of determination from the age of 6-13. Graduating from Mayfield High, Coach Jocelyn embarked on her next adventure at NMSU, where she is currently pursuing a dual major in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, complementing a minor in Dance and Chemistry. Jocelyn exemplifies the perfect fusion of intellect, athleticism, and artistic expression, poised to have a profound impact on the young lives of our WILD swimmers.
Dawn Armstrong joined our team as a parent in April of 2022 when her daughter Emma started swimming. She started Coaching for Wild in August of 2024 and has an extensive background in physical fitness, learn-to-swim instruction and in-water safety dating back more than 3 decades. Dawn works full-time for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, teaches Tai-Chi for the New Mexico Senior Olympics on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and now coaches for Wild Mondays and Wednesdays.
